Students interested in working in developer roles in the technology sector - the Euromoney Hackathon could be a way for you to develop your skills!

Euromoney PLC is expanding its current Technology Graduate Programme by hosting its first Hackathon. They hope to find the next generation of top talent and develop innovative applications that will help students develop skills and experience - and possibly secure a job at the company.

The event provides an opportunity to add to your CV, whilst gaining team experience, and exposure to industry technology and best business practices. There will also be free food and drink, with cash prizes for the winning team.

About the Event

  • Dates: 4 - 5 October 2014.
  • The event will run overnight and consist of approximately 20 persons formed into teams of 4.
  • £6,000 prize fund!
  • The teams are to be formed from each the different development streams: back-end developer, front-end developer, tester and general.
  • Each team will be allocated a mentor who will assist with problems and technical feedback.
  • Teams are pre-formed before the event to promote competition, co-operation and fairness.
  • You will have the option to rest at home and return on Sunday morning afresh or power through non-stop until Sunday evening

Technology Stack

Euromoney PLC will have suitable development and hosting environments created in advance to make getting started easier.

Their stack revolves around C# and Microsoft MVC - so expect this to be at the heart of apps you will be developing.

Preferred JavaScript frameworks can also be used e.g:

  • AngularJS
  • JQuery
  • Grunt
