Computational Management Science prints special issue in honor of Doc Professor

Prof Berc Rustem is honoured in Computational Management Science an international journal focusing on all computational aspects of management science.

Professor Berç Rustem from the Department of Computing here at Imperial College has stepped down as the founding editor of the journal Computational Management Science. Over the years of Berç’s editorship the journal established itself as one of the  leading journals in it's  field.

Through his work, Berç has influenced a number of scientific areas ranging from Economics, Operations Research to Robust control. This is reflected in his early work in Economics, Projection Methods in Constrained Optimisation and Applications to Optimal Policy Decisions (1981) and later on in his works Algorithms for Nonlinear Programming and Multiple Objective Decisions (1998) and Algorithms for Worst-case Design with Applications to Risk Management (2002). The latter being a standard work of robust control in Economics.

To commemorate his leadership of both the journal and the scientific community generally Computational Management Science has produced a special issue which consists of a collection of papers by his friends and colleagues.

Computational Management Science is an international journal focusing on all computational aspects of management science. These include theoretical and empirical analysis of computational models; computational statistics; analysis and applications of constrained, unconstrained, robust, stochastic and combinatorial optimisation algorithms; dynamic models, such as dynamic programming and decision trees; new search tools and algorithms for global optimisation, modelling, learning and forecasting; models and tools of knowledge acquisition. The emphasis on computational paradigms is an intended feature of CMS, distinguishing it from more classical operations research journals.
