It's A Date: Match up with mathematicians working in top companies.

On Thursday, 23 October 2014 The Department of Mathematics will be holding their annual Careers Speed Dating event.

Connect with fellow mathematicians working in companies such as Towers Watson, Finalta Global, FTI Consulting, KPMG, Yahoo!, Bank of England, Network Rail, Gamesys, Cisco, IBM, Barclaycard, EY, Citi and many more!

The variety of employers got me considering career paths I had not previously thought about and I liked the ability to speak to them in a relatively informal setting

On Thursday, 23 October 2014 The Department of Mathematics will be holding their annual Careers Speed Dating event. This popular evening event will follow a speed dating format with open networking at the end, giving you a unique chance to speak to Imperial alumni and employer representatives with a background in mathematics.

Representatives will provide inspiration, ideas and guidance on career options through informal conversations. This is a chance for you to gain a better understanding of the variety of career paths open to you, and hear how fellow mathematicians from a range of careers (from banking to teaching) made the transition from maths graduate into a successful professional in their industry. Whether you have a clear idea of what career you want to enter or if you are exploring options, this event if for you.

Please note that this event is exclusive to the Department of Mathematics and is only open to:

  • Years 2-4 undergraduates
  • Joint Maths and Computing students
  • MSc students
  • PhD students

You can register to attend via JobsLive. Please note that this is a popular event and to ensure you secure a place book ASAP.

  • Date: 23 October 2014
  • Time: Timing is critical. Please aim to arrive at 17.45 to ensure a prompt start at 18.00. You will be allocated to a table.
  • Location: Senior Common Room (SCR), Level 2, Sherfield Building, South Kensington campus.
