A look back at Welcome Week 2014

Moving in weekend

From the first Mingle of moving in weekend to Saturday's Freshers' Ball, we look back on some the highlights of this year's Welcome Week.

Welcome Week 2014 saw a range of events from departmental welcomes, the Union's biggest ever Freshers’ Fair, sports trials and the first alcohol free club-night ‘Dri’ at Imperial College Union.

For many the highlight of the week was the annual Freshers’ Ball, which was headlined by a DJ set from Finn Jones, a star from TV's Game of Thrones.

Tom Wheeler, Imperial College Union President said: “It really was an amazing week. Everyone was raring to go from start to finish and it was great to get out there and meet our new and returning students.

“It was fantastic to see so many students signing up for some of activities on offer. Even if you missed out there’s still plenty of time to get involved throughout the year.”

This year also saw a full postgraduate welcome programme with stand-up comedy and a pub quiz in h-bar to make sure new postgraduate students at the College didn’t miss out on the Welcome Week fun.
