Enrique Castro-Sanchez has been awarded a Florence Nightingale Foundation Travel Scholarship for study in South Africa, Mozambique and Rwanda.

Enrique Castro-Sanchez, the Academic Research Nurse at CIPM, has been awarded a Travel Scholarship by the Florence Nightingale Foundation Trust.

This scholarship is to enable Enrique to undertake a study in South Africa, Mozambique and Rwanda on “Building nursing capacity in antimicrobial stewardship: learning from low and middle income countries.”

The study builds on CIPM's existing partnership with hospitals in Rwanda, including the work to reduce neonatal mortality and maternal and paediatric infection through improved patient safety in Rwanda, funded by THET Partnerships for Global Health.

Enrique Castro-Sanchez is the Academic Research Nurse at the Centre for Infection Prevention and Management (CIPM) at Imperial College, London.  He is a close contributor to current research projects in work-stream 1 “Innovation Adoption & Behaviour Change“, particularly exploring the application of behavioural sciences and social marketing approaches to improve infection prevention and control, antibiotic prescribing behaviours and vascular access care.

Enrique is also involved in work-stream 4 “Capacity Building”, delivering education and research support for the MSc in Infection.
