The TARGETjobs Undergraduate of the Year Awards features 10 prestigious awards set up to identify and celebrate the UK's best undergraduates.

The TARGETjobs Undergraduate of the Year Awards launched six years ago, and now features 10 prestigious awards. The 2014 competition was entered by more than 4,400 students from over 140 different universities.

The Awards recognise the UK's best undergraduates in specific areas, like subject of degree (law, engineering etc) or other categories (future leaders, women). Being the best means having a combination of academic excellence, the ability to pass a series of difficult online assessments, good written communication and finally the interpersonal skills necessary to compete with other students in assessment centres run by the sponsoring organisation. The final shortlist of ten are invited to the Awards event in London in April where the winners are announced.

What are the awards categories?

Each award is sponsored by a prominent graduate recruiter who provides a fantastic prize for the winner, including a paid internship, trips abroad and other exclusive opportunities. The rewards are great: winners’ prizes include internships and all-expenses paid trips to Singapore, Dubai, and continental Europe and the final 10 students in each Award will be invited to the Undergraduate of the Year Awards Event in Canary Wharf London on 24 April, 2015 which I am delighted to say will be hosted by Fiona Bruce.

This year there are 10 awards categories:

• Engineering Undergraduate of the Year
• Low Carbon Energy Undergraduate of the Year
• Management Undergraduate of the Year
• Mathematics, Economics and Finance Undergraduate of the Year
• Construction, Engineering and Design Undergraduate of the Year
• Future Business Leader of the Year
• Law Undergraduate of the Year
• Female Undergraduate of the Year
• IT and Computer Science Undergraduate of the Year
• Languages Undergraduate of the Year

Am I eligible?

The awards are open to students going into their penultimate year.

Each award has clearly stated entry criteria, including year of study and minimum educational requirement. Students who don't meet the entry criteria will not be considered.

Undergraduates from all UK universities are eligible - if you meet the entry criteria - and past winners have come from over 30 different universities.
