SCI mentioned by the well know economist Tim Harford during his BBC Radio 4 programme on 5 September 2014
We were very excited to be mentioned by the well known economist Tim Harford during his BBC Radio 4 programme "More or Less" on 5 September 2014. The programme "To ice or not to ice?" runs for 28 mins but you'll hear about SCI between mins 3.30-9.30 approx.
Tim's analysis of whether it is possible to use data to identify the very best charity in the world was picked up on by Ben Carter and Keith Moore who wrote an article on the BBC Magazine website on 7 September entitled "Icy logic: Choosing a charity with your head and not your heart". SCI was mentioned again!
As if that wasn't enough, Tim Harford also wrote his column in the FT on 12 September on the same topic - "Ice bucket challenge: the cold facts" - and SCI was mentioned for a third time! Sadly if you are not an FT subscriber you won't be able to see the FT column.
Some very welcome publicity which we are really chuffed about!
We have posted a couple of videos on Facebook of SCI supporters, including Tim Harford, who took the Ice Bucket Challenge for SCI
