The USP/FAPESP workshop was held on 19th & 20th February and was attended by representatives from the CPE and the University of Sao Paulo.
Imperial College's Centre for Plastic Electronics played host to a delegation from the University of Sao Paulo (USP) on 19th & 20th February as part of a USP/FAPESP - Imperial College Global Engagements Fund collaboration in Plastic Electronics (led by Professor Jenny Nelson as PI at Imperial and Professor Roberto Faria at USP). In the accompanying workshop Professors Oswaldo Oliveira, Paulo Miranda, Francisco Guimaraes, Felippe Pavinato and Roberto Faria talked about their research and listened to CPE presentations from Professors Natalie Stingelin (Materials), Jenny Nelson, Martin Heeney (Chemistry), Donal Bradley (Physics) and Drs John de Mello (Chemistry), Sandrine Heutz (Materials), Stoichko Dimitrov (Chemistry), Andrew Telford (Physics) and Paul Stavrinou (Physics). Prisca Merz from the International Office also attended and spoke about the Imperial College Brazil Forum and existing links between Imperial and Brazil. Proposals for a larger workshop in Brazil and for a programme of student and PDRA exchanges were discussed, with an aim to building a longer term collaboration.
