The Grantham Institute have launched a new Doctoral Training Programme, the NERC School on Environmental Innovation and Entrepreneurship

The Grantham Institute is looking to create the next generation of climate and environmental change entrepreneurs with its new programme the ‘School on Environmental Innovation and Entrepreneurship’.

Postgraduate students can register now to join a three part journey which will develop their understanding of environmental challenges and the innovation needed in companies, local authorities and government to meet these.

The programme is funded by the Natural Environment Research Council (NERC) which has identified 3 core societal goals, all linked to an improving our quality of life and growing economies whilst living within Earth’s limits: benefiting from natural resources, resilience to environmental hazards, and managing environmental change. The NERC School on Environmental Innovation and Entrepreneurship will immerse students in the achievement of these goals.

The programme begins on the 9th March and will deliver a variety of taught and hands-on courses and a great opportunity for students to work in teams and develop their entrepreneurial skills. Participants will learn about systems innovation and get the opportunity to hear guest speakers elaborate on their perspective on innovation, their innovative projects and their work in relation to environment and climate change. Also participants get time to work in groups and spark entrepreneurial thinking, develop prototypes with Imperial Hackspace and pitch business/innovative ideas to a jury.

Participants will also have the opportunity to access ‘Disruptive Technology Coaching’ and participate in ‘Making Transformation Happen - London Environmental Challenge’ (April 13 to April 24).

This brochure gives a full overview of the programme.

The Business Innovation Journey is now open for registration; please contact Judith Altman for further information.
