Gold Award at SET for BRITAIN

The SET for BRITAIN series of poster competitions and exhibitions in the House of Commons which started in 1997.

Dr Nasrin Al Nasiri (postdoctoral research associate in the Department of Materials - Ceramics and Glasses group) has won the Gold Award at SET for Britain under the Engineering category for her poster entitled: 'Environmental barrier coating for Si-based ceramic composites'.

Nasrin was presented with a medal and a £3,000 cash prize at the awards ceremony on 9 March 2015 at Portcullis House, Westminster. SET for BRITAIN is an annual poster competition and awards are made on the basis of the very best research work and results by an early-stage or early-career researcher together with their ability to communicate their work to a lay audience. Nasrin is supervised by Professor Bill Lee FREng.
