Cisco launches University Mentoring Programme
Cisco's programme aims to help students develop soft skills and ultimately elevate their employability by being mentored by Cisco employees.
Cisco is a leading Information Technology company, voted Fortune Magazine’s Best Place to Work (12 years running), and has devised a University Mentoring Programme.
The programme - which will be running this spring/summer - aims to give a select group of students an insight into the world of work, being mentored by Cisco 'Early in Career' employees, creating an informal, supportive and safe environment within which students can gain general advice regarding industry and job specific questions.
What might I get out of the programme?
- Advice and support around the job application processes- e.g. interviews, CV feedback, assessment centre help, how to deal with group activities, presenting to employers
- Advice on collating examples for portfolio and presenting to employers during interviews
- How to manage time/stress
- Help discussions on future career ambitions and set a career strategy/plan
- Develop skills - e.g. presenting, confidence and commercial awareness
