Interested in gaining paid work experience in the heart of our democracy? From a Black or Asian Background? This is the internship for you.

The Windsor Fellowship House of Commons Internship Programme is a fantastic way to gain work experience in an exciting and unique environment. This is a great opportunity to get close to the leaders of UK politics; the decision making, the deal breaking and the forefront of change.

Not only will you be able to observe politics at work at the highest level first hand, you’ll also get fully involved with the everyday workings of Commons life.


Eligibility and Application Criteria:

· Be from a Black or Asian background

· Have excellent:

     - Drafting/written communication skills

     - Numeracy/data interpretation skills (depending on the role)

     - Inter-personal skills, being able to develop effective working relationships with people from all backgrounds

· Be a recent graduate from an undergraduate or post-graduate course

· Have no restrictions on living/working in the UK

· Be able to commit to all aspects of the Programme

 

The Programme will provide you with:

- A paid one-year Internship at the House of Commons starting in November 2015

- A place on the Windsor Fellowship Leadership Programme

- Mentoring, Coaching and Support during the Programme

As part of the House of Commons’ efforts to reflect the diversity of the UK’s population, it is partnering with the Windsor Fellowship to run the Internship Programme for recent graduates from Black or Asian backgrounds.  The aims of the Programme are to provide work experience, employability support and guidance to individuals from communities that are currently under-represented in the House of Commons’ graduate level workforce.

The deadline for receipt of completed applications is 6 August 2015.
