A team of three 4th year Mechanical Engineering students competed in the final of the Shell Ideas 360 competition, which was held recently in Rotterdam. From about 1100 ideas that were submitted by student teams from all over the world, five teams from Singapore, Malaysia, Qatar, USA/Uganda and the UK, were shortlisted to present their ideas to a jury and an audience.
The Imperial Blu team (Dmitri Ivanov, Amanda Sjodahl and Avtar Rekhi) developed a system to extract drinking water from air without using any electricity. They were awarded the Audience award for best idea.
