Library Search development update

Since launching the new Library Search interface, the Library Information Systems team has been doing further development work based on your feedback.

Here are some highlights:

• We have balanced the way search results are weighted, so if you have a specific book or database in mind it should appear near the top of your results. For example try alberts cell, web of science, or engineering mathematics.
• We have added additional search options to help you narrow down your results, and reinstated the title browse for e-journals. Select “More search options” from the Library Search home page or any results page to use this. We knew the journal title browse this was a popular feature based on user input and analytics data, but we were unable to include this from day one. Thank you for your patience while we corrected this.
• Search autocomplete is now available. This saves you time by providing context-sensitive suggestions when you start typing in search terms, as in the above picture.

We designed the new Library Search on the principles that it should be as fast, easy and convenient to use as possible, and to emphasise information users find most important when selecting resources to support their learning and research. We value your feedback on this.
