The Lancet, in collaboration with Imperial College London and the Norwegian Institute of Public Health is publishing a new Series of titled: “Antimicrobials: sustainable access and effectiveness”.
The five papers in the Series cover access to effective antimicrobials as a global challenge, understanding the mechanisms and the drivers of antimicrobial resistance, maximising access to achieve appropriate human antimicrobial use in low- and middle-income countries, exploring the evidence base for national and regional policy interventions to combat resistance, and international cooperation to improve access to and sustain effectiveness of antimicrobials.
Perspectives from WHO will be discussed by Dr Marc Sprenger, the Director of Antimicrobial Resistance Secretariat at WHO along with the political economy of antimicrobial resistance, and the next international steps required.
Join us for a symposium to launch the Series, chaired by Richard Horton, Editor-in-Chief, The Lancet. The Series booklet, containing the five papers and accompanying Comments, will be available at the launch.
The Lancet series on ‘Antimicrobials: sustainable access and effectiveness’ will launch on Wednesday 18 November (Global Antibiotic Awareness Day), 14:00 - 17:00.
