Academic staff and representatives from existing and prospective external partners of the TSM-CDT spent 24 hours at Cumberland Lodge in September
The aim of this informal meeting was to encourage collaborations on both research and training within the multidisciplinary environment of the TSM-CDT. Representatives from Baker Hughes, BP, Culham Centre for Fusion Energy, Dstl, Johnson Matthey, Materials Design and the National Nuclear Laboratory delivered presentations about the materials challenges faced by their organisations and the potential role of theory and simulation. The CDT Director also gave a presentation outlining the many ways in which partners can get involved in training our students. It is hoped that this will lead to further interactions over the coming year.
