Professor Jeff Magee, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, said that he first met Peter when he was an research assistant and Peter was a lecturer.  As both a Head of Department and Vice Dean (Education) for Faculty of Engineering, Peter has been outstanding with the strength to influence the environment, and has taken a strong position on what is best for the Faculty of Engineering at committee meetings.  He had made a high and valuable contribution to the Department, Faculty and College.

Professor Eric Yeatman, Head of Department, said that as Peter wasn’t retiring he shouldn’t be eulogized; but Peter had served the Department well over the years as Director UG Studies, Deputy Head of Department and Head of Department. He had appointed some excellent staff over the past seven years and taken an interest in the progress that everyone was making in their careers; many had benefited from his development and commitment.  He had also been deeply involved with student activities in the department, and most students would remember him in years to come.

Professor Peter Cheung said that he thought he’d had the best Head of Department job of any Electrical and Electronic Engineering Department in the country and that he’d had seven excellent years.
