Imperial set to mark National Stress Awareness Day
On Wednesday 4 November, the College will hold a series of workshops and events as part of National Stress Awareness Day.
The day’s activities aim to raise awareness of the impact of stress, strategies to address it and sources of help and support available at the College.
Sessions include a workshop on how to understand and manage stress, a meditation session, and a mindfulness seminar. The Active Lifestyles team at Ethos, the College’s sports centre, are also offering several classes for free as part of the day.
Many of the events are set to run over lunch time, encouraging staff to step away from their desks and take a proper break. The nationwide ‘Reclaim your Lunch Break’ campaign highlights the importance of this for productivity, well-being, and team-building.
The day’s events will close with a lecture from Dr Ed Roberts, a cognitive neuroscientist at the College, discussing the role of hormones in financial decision making, and the wider relevance of this to working environments.
