Reach for the sky with Airbus' Presentation Competition

by Olivia Sleet

A chance to speak at the National Student Space Convention, network with high fliers of the space industry and cash prize - what are you waiting for?

Here at Imperial we’re lucky enough to study some pretty amazing things; covering everything from microbiology to black holes, Imperial College research is world-leading. So here’s your chance to utilise your knowledge to make waves in the aerospace industry with Airbus’ Defence and Space Student Presentation Competition.

If you’re a current undergraduate, Masters or PhD student, you’ve got until 14 February 2016 to submit a 350 word abstract about any space related topic you’ve undertaken at university. Airbus are primarily looking for exciting and innovative ideas encountered during your study or research, and the best entries will be invited to speak at the National Student Space Conference on 5 March 2016.

Your presentation at the event will be judged based on the technical merit of the topic, potential for development of the idea, and quality of presentation. This will then help decide first and second place, with cash prizes of £200 and £100 respectively. At the event you’ll also have the opportunity to meet engineers, managers, and graduates working in the company, attend talks by leading members of the space sector and network with other students as well.
