Esmita Charani joins discussion panel on Antibiotic Resistance and You!

Hosted by Public Health England this free public event aims to create recognition of the importance of antibiotics

Esmita Charani, Lead Research Pharmacist at the National Institute for Health Research Health Protection Research Unit (HPRU) in Healthcare Associated Infections (HCAI) and Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) at Imperial College London has been invited to join the audience and panel discussion on the 24th February on Antibiotic Resistance and You!

The event is hosted by Public Health England and being organised by the British Society for Antimicrobial Chemotherapy (BSAC).  

Confirmed speakers include Imperial College’s Professor Alan Johnson of the NIHR HPRU in HCAI and AMR as well as Professor Anthony Kessel, Director of Public Health Strategy at Public Health England.

This event is especially for general members of the public and is free of charge to attend.

This free public event will:

  • Educate you about the causes of antibiotic resistance and why it is a threat.
  • Inform you about what you can do to help solve this problem by taking simple, everyday steps.
  • Explain the roles and responsibilities of the government, policy makers, and healthcare professionals in tackling this problem.
  • Show you how you can join the fight against antibiotic resistance.
  • Allow you to contribute to the debate about antibiotic resistance and to the solution!
