Career Fairs
Science Careers Fair – 28 January
A fantastic opportunity to get clued up on a career in Science. With over 30 employers attending, including Dow Chemical Company, Immunocore and the European Patent Office the variety of companies on show will give you the opportunity to gain a real insight into the sector and the type of opportunities available.
Internship Fair – 18 February
Looking for an internship? Then this is the fair for you! Specifically designed for students searching for internships and work experience and with companies such as InternChina, EDF Trading and Porridge and Rice attending it’s a great way to kick-start your search.
Career Forums
The Spring Term Forums will open on 21 January with an evening focused on PhD’s with a panel of speakers sharing their experiences in business including Cambridge Consultants, GSK and Winton Capital. The Career Women’s Forum follows in February, providing an opportunity to hear from senior female managers and professionals from companies including Rolls-Royce, Nomura and Shell talk about their own personal career development.
Six companies will attend each forum and give a presentation about their company, and their experiences in the industry, followed by a Q&A session and networking afterwards.
Focus on… Sector Weeks
The Start-up & Enterprise Networking Event, presents you with an ideal opportunity to connect with diverse and interesting organisations.

The Focus on…Enterprise Week will include a series of events relating to start-ups, small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and entrepreneurship. This will include a varied mixture of talks from enterprising professionals, seminars, and workshops about working in this exciting, fast-paced environment. Headlining this week is the Start-up and Enterprise Networking Event, presenting you with an ideal opportunity to connect with diverse and interesting organisations.
Get started in a career on Policy & Science Communication with our Sector Focus Week in March. With workshops on gaining an internship in this sector and talks from professionals it’s the perfect chance to see if this is the career path for you.
Career Café’s & Lunchtime Talks
The Careers Service also run smaller, more focused events throughout the Spring Term. Discuss your career in a small group setting with our Career Cafés, topics include: entrepreneurship, video interviews and using recruitment agents.
Our Lunchtime Talks will also be in full swing from 14 January with a range of companies covering topics including, law, leadership skills, internships and teaching. Check JobsLive for the full list of events.
