Announcing the GIST-Imperial International R&D Centre for Plastic Electronics
The 1st GIST-Imperial International Workshop on Plastic Electronics was held in GIST, South Korea, on 14-15th December 2015
The 1st GIST-Imperial International Workshop on Plastic Electronics was held in GIST (Gwangju Institute for Science and Technology), South Korea, on 14-15th December 2015. During this workshop, the GIST-ICL International R&D Centre for Plastic Electronics was established, and the Memorandum of Understanding for the Centre was signed by Directors of GIST (Prof Kwang Hee Lee) and Imperial College London’s Centre for Plastic Electronics (Prof James Durrant). The GIST-ICL R&D Centre aims to develop social problem-solving and sustainable ‘Plastic Electronics’.
The Workshop started with the congratulatory addresses from the President of GIST (Prof Seung Hyeon Moon) and the Minister of Science, ICT and Future Planning (read by proxy: Mr Young Su Jeon, Director of Europe-Africa Cooperation Division). Plenary talks were delivered by Prof James Durrant (Imperial College) and Prof Kilwon Cho (Pohang University of Science and Technology), and invited talks by Dr Won-Suk Shin (Korea Research Institute of Chemical Technology), Prof Myung-Han Yoon (GIST) and Dr Jae Woong Jung (Korea Institute of Science and Technology). More detailed discussion on current research activities at GIST and Imperial College was carried out by invited talks from both organisations, delivered by Profs Jae-Suk Lee, Ji-Woong Park, Dong-Yu Kim, Sukwon Hong (GIST) and Paul Stravrinou, Ji-Seon Kim, Martyn Mclachlan (Imperial).
