Imperial College’s NIHR Health Protection Research Unit (HPRU) in HCAI and AMR will be co-hosting the event  with BSAC –The British Society for Antimicrobial Chemotherapy (BSAC). BSAC is an inter-professional organisation with over 40 years of experience and achievement in antibiotic education, research and leadership.

The Spring meeting - Start Smart Then Focus! Infection challenges and better outcomes: Is better implementation the missing link?
takes place on Wednesday 16 March, International Convention Centre, Birmingham.

By bringing together academic and clinical experts, it is aimed that  this meeting will present the latest evidence in social science research in this field and to use examples from clinical practice to demonstrate why it is important to address it as part of successful antimicrobial stewardship implementation programmes

Speakers include HPRU Advisory Board member Professor Mike Sharland, Chair, ARHAI who will be speaking about ‘The UK 5-year AMR Strategy – a brief overview’.

The meeting, which regularly attracts over 200 delegates, will be of interest to microbiologists, infectious disease physicians, pharmacists, scientists, infection control specialists, colleagues in industry and professionals allied to the field of infection and antimicrobial chemotherapy.
