Dr Ke Han named Rising Star Fellow by Transportation Research Board
Ke Han, Lecturer in Transport, was recently named fellow of the Chan Wui and Yunyin Rising Star Workshop for Early Career Professionals.
The workshop is convening an elite group of seven academics selected globally to explore the nexus of mobility and communication during a transatlantic ship crossing between the 6th and the 13th July. Dr Han was named Rising Star Fellow along with Candace Brakewood (City College of New York), Rajesh Paleti (Old Dominion University), Gregory D. Erhardt (University College London) and Rolf Moeckel (Technical University Munich). There will be two Senior Fellows, Eric J. Miller (University of Toronto) and Sephardi Mohan (University of Arkansas at Little Rock).
During the transatlantic crossing, the fellows and senior fellows will discuss critical research questions stemming from changes in transportation and telecommunication and from the intersections of the two fields. The Rising Star Fellows are also invited to present their work at a special session during the 2017 TRB Annual Meeting.
Dr Han is an expert in transport modeling and optimization, intelligent transport systems, and sustainable transport. His experience in multi-disciplinary research involving operations research, scientific computing, and big data analytics will bring unique perspectives to the workshop.
The workshop is supported by the Transportation Research Board, a program unit of the National Academies of Science, Engineering, and Medicine.
