Research Career Forum
Tuesday 9 May 2017– 18:30-20:30

Interested in a career in research after completing your PhD?

This event will give you the chance to find out more from speakers providing different insights into working in research within Higher Education and in industry. Imperial College academic staff and industry professionals will talk about their own personal career development and the challenges and rewards of research in a number of different contexts.

The event is aimed at PhD students from all year groups and subjects. The evening will start with a formal panel of speakers with an opportunity for questions and then for informal networking during refreshments.

PhD Careers Fair
Thursday 11 May 2016 – 17:00-19:30

Our PhD Careers Fair is a chance for you to meet some of the biggest recruiters of PhD students in the country. Get your questions answered, explore new opportunities and network with world-leading organisations.

You won't need to register in advance of the event - just bring your Imperial Student ID card with you to gain access. A full list of the employers exhibiting at the event, you can view the PhD Careers Fair brochure online.

Before the fair, why not do some research on the employers attending and sectors that interest you? The Careers Service webpages can help you with this, providing information and resources including destinations statistics on previous Imperial PhD students along with a video/audio recording of our PhD Forum last year to help you generate some ideas.

PhD Skills Development Workshops

Throughout May and June, the Careers Service is running a number of PhD-focused Employer-Led Skills Workshops, giving you a chance to hear directly from the employers. The workshops will not only be an opportunity to learn just what top recruiters are looking for, but you can also develop your own skills too, from case study practice to networking.
