Elisa Colldo Represents the CPE at SET for Britain Competition
PhD students and early stage Postdocs showcased their research to Members of Parliament at Portcullis House in March.
I participated in the event SET for Britain 2016, where PhD students and Early stage Postdocs showcased their research to Members of Parliament at the iconic building Portcullis House. It was a very exciting event with lots of interesting research. The quality of the work presented was outstanding, varying from fundamental research such as theoretical studies of protein long-range interactions to applied research, including design of gas sensors to be used as indicators of food decomposition in house fridges.
The event was highly popular: MPs were very interested in the research presented, I had the opportunity to explain my poster to my local MP as well as the leader of the Labour Party, Jeremy Corbyn. I would definitely recommend PhD students and Early researchers to apply, as it is a good opportunity to advertise your research in an exciting and competitive environment.
