Work will begin on the next milestone building at Imperial's White City Campus this month.
The College will be working with development management partners Voreda and contractors Laing O’Rourke on the construction of the residential tower at White City, with work getting underway from early May.
The tower is an integral part of the College’s new innovation campus. Positioned on the northern part of Imperial’s White City Campus the residential tower will provide 192 new homes, including 59 earmarked for Imperial key workers at below market rents.
Graham Stark, Imperial’s Development Director for the White City Campus said:
“This new residential tower is another exciting step for Imperial in White City. It demonstrates our long-term commitment to delivering a vibrant mixed use community. The tower is an integral part of our new 25 acre innovation campus and further establishes Imperial’s presence in the area for generations to come. The Campus itself is the largest single development in the College’s history and offers huge potential for the local area.”
Construction on the building is expected to be completed in 2019.
In January this year Imperial marked the completion of structural building work for its Molecular Science Research Hub and Translation & Innovation Hub.
The two interconnected hubs form one of the first major parts of the innovation ecosystem for the College’s new White City Campus, which is set to co-locate research, entrepreneurs, established companies and global corporations on a scale unprecedented in London.
