Imperial College celebrated over 3,000 students receiving their degrees last week during the Postgraduate Graduation Ceremonies.
Around 80 of the Department’s MSc and PhD graduands attended the Ceremony in the Royal Albert Hall. This was followed by a Reception for students from the Department and their friends and families in the Queen’s Tower Rooms.
As well as celebrating all of our postgraduates’ successes, the Head of Department Professor Eric Yeatman also presented prizes to students for outstanding achievements in each of our MSc courses, the Hertha Ayrton Prize for the Best MSc project and the Ivor Tupper Prize For Excellence in Signal Processing, Broadcast And Video Technology.
Professor Peter Cheung, our recent former Head of Department also received a DSc (Doctor of Science) from Imperial College for his work on ‘Design and Application of Reconfigurable Circuits and Systems’. A DSc (Higher Doctorate) is awarded for published work to an exceptional standard containing original contributions to the advancement of knowledge and learning which has given the recipient international distinction in their field of study.
