Dr Omar Usmani shared his findings on last night's BBC Horizon programme examining whether e-cigarettes are a safe alternative to traditional smoking.

In Sunday's Horizon programme Michael Mosley took a closer look at what the latest research shows us about the effects of e-cigarettes on our health.  Dr Omar Usmani of the National Heart & Lung Institute (NHLI) and Royal Brompton Hospital was one of a panel of experts who provided us with an insight into the latest scientific findings.

View the full programme on the BBC iPlayer with Dr Usmani running tests to discover the effect 4 weeks of vaping has had on Michael's health from 52.05 minutes in.

Dr Martyn Biddiscombe, Ms Sally Meah and Dr Paolo Paredi of the NHLI were all involved in helping Michael Mosley understand the effects of e-cigarettes in the making of this programme.  They feature running the tests required to measure the physical effects vaping has on a person's health and giving comments on the latest research in this area.
