Computing at Imperial comes top in Russell group for Female Professors

Imperial department of computing leading the way in women's academic career progression.

The Department of Computing takes great care in ensuring gender equality in the department, and it works hard at attracting and retaining women. It has put into place several processes to guarantee that career progression and working standards are equal and fair to all. Some of these processes include unconscious bias training, salary review to ensure equal pay (there is now no gender difference in academic salaries), support has been given to staff looking for promotion, interview and promotion panels include male and female staff. As a result we have the highest percentage of female academics at professorial level, compared to other Computer Science departments across the country and one of the best at female academic presence in Russell group Computing departments overall.
