Professor Carrillo de la Plata wins Best Supervisor at the Student Academic Choice Awards 2015-16
The Student Academic Choice Awards recognise, reward and celebrate outstanding College staff. Launched in 2012 by the Imperial College Union, the nominations cover all faculties, departments, campuses and study levels (from undergraduate to post-doctoral research). "Every student at Imperial will have the chance to recognise the innovation, skill, engagement and energy of the staff they learn with." Nominations open soon after the academic year begins, culminating in a prestigious prize ceremony in May each year.
Congratulations to Professor Jose Carrillo de la Plata from the Applied Maths section in the Department of Mathematics, who took home the Best Supervisor award this year!
"Excellence in doctoral research supervision is characterised by the:
- Availability and openness of the supervisor
- Presence of appropriate support when it is needed
- Proactive identification of training and development needs in collaboration with the doctoral researcher."
