Collaboration between Imperial and Kyoto University
Congratulations to members of the NIHR Health Protection Unit (HPRU) in HCAI and AMR - Dr Michiyo Iwami (lead), Research Associate and Dr Enrique Castro-Sánchez (co-lead), Lead Research Nurse and ARC Early Career Research Fellow for their success in obtaining the Daiwa Foundation Award for a collaborative project with Prof Yuichi Imanaka at Kyoto University, Japan.
This award will enable exchange of best practice and research between the two institutes in addressing global antimicrobial resistance (AMR). Of special interest is Prof Imanaka’s recent analysis of social and healthcare burdens of AMR for the development of Japan’s national AMR action plan and contributions to G7-related national reports. Further collaborative research opportunities will be developed.
