Several members of the Structures Section have won the Best Research Paper Award 2016 from the Institution of Structural Engineers (IStructE).
The team were joint winners for a new prize 'Best Research Paper' recognising the best work in the Institution's new research journal, Structures.The prizes were judged by the IStructE Research Panel, and sponsored by Elsevier.
The winning paper Modelling of beam response for progressive collapse analysis was co-authored by Dr Panagiotis M. Stylianidis (a former PhD student in the Department), Professor David Nethercot, Professor Bassam Izzuddin and Professor Ahmed Elghazouli.
The team received their award at the recent IStructE People and Papers Awards Ceremony 2016.
The winning papers will be free to access online for the next three months.
