Dr Ronny Pini receives prestigious award for excellence in publications

Congratulations to Dr Ronny Pini on receiving a prestigious award from the International Adsorption Society for research excellence.

Dr Ronny Pini, a Lecturer in the Department of Chemical Engineering has received the International Adsorption Society (IAS) Award for Excellence in Publications by a Young Member of the Society. The award is given to recognise outstanding, published research carried out by young scientists or engineers in the area of adsorption. Dr Pini received the award "for the breadth, depth and impact of his contributions to adsorption science and its applications to geo-energy”. The award ceremony took place as part of the 12th International Conference on the Fundamentals of Adsorption, 29 May - 3 June 2016, Friedrichshafen (Germany).

Dr Pini has been a Lecturer at the Department since January 2015. He completed his undergraduate and postgraduate studies at ETH Zurich, Switzerland. He then became a postdoctoral scholar at Stanford University, USA and later an assistant professor at the Colorado School of Mines, USA before joining Imperial College London. Dr Pini is also a member of the Qatar Carbonates and Carbon Storage Research Centre. His research interests include single- and multi-phase flow in porous media, multi-scale imaging of phase-equilibria and flows in porous media.

Congratulations to Dr Pini for receiving the IAS Award for Excellence in Publications! The award was fully deserved for his outstanding work and we wish him all the best for the future.
