The Faculty held an event to celebrate its female engineers and inspire prospective students as part of National Women in Engineering Day.
Female academics from across the Faculty were invited to exhibit their research to colleagues and prospective students, and President Alice Gast gave a speech to mark the occasion.
The event was organised as part of National Women in Engineering Day, a day dedicated to raising the profile and celebrating the achievements of women in engineering.
The Day was set up by the Women's Engineering Society to celebrate its 95th anniversary. The aim is to celebrate the work that women do in engineering, and to showcase the great engineering careers that are available.
As part of the celebrations, female staff, students and prospective students attending the College open day were invited to discover the work of other female academics and learn more about their research.
Following this showcase session President Alice Gast spoke warmly about the great achievements of our female staff, including winning awards, conducting outreach activity, building external collaborations and providing high quality teaching and inspiration for our students.
