Congratulations to staff in the Department who have been awarded President's Awards for Excellence in Education and Research.
Congratulations to Professor Pal, Dr Thomas Clarke, Dr Tim Constandinou and Professor Chris Toumazou who have all been awarded President’s Awards for Excellence in Education and Research.
These annual awards are given to staff who have made outstanding contributions in teaching, pastoral care, research supervision, supporting the student experience, and to those who have made outstanding contributions in early career research, research support, innovation and external engagement. Nominations are received from staff and students across the College, and winners are decided by a selection panel chaired by the Acting Vice-Provost (Education) and Vice-Provost (Research).
The President’s Medal for excellence in Innovation and Entrepreneurship was awarded to Professor Chris Toumazou, Director of the Centre for Bio-inspired Technology, Circuits and Systems.
The President’s Awards for Outstanding Research Team was awarded to Professor Bikash Pal and his research group within Control and Power. Professor Pal says: The research focus of our group has been in developing computational and control methods that help run 21st century power grid infrastructure with higher level of security, reliability and efficiency. Such award is highly motivating for enhancing the team spirit in inter-disciplinary research.”
Dr Thomas Clarke, Senior Teaching Fellow, received the President’s Award for Excellence in Teaching. The award celebrates and acknowledges staff who are considered to have made an outstanding contribution to the enhancement of teaching and who consistently gain excellent feedback from the students.
Dr Tim Constandinou, Centre for Bio Inspired Technology, Circuits and Systems, received the President’s Award for Excellence in Research Supervision. The award celebrates and acknowledges staff who are considered to have made an outstanding contribution towards a supportive learning environment.
Award recipients will receive their awards from Imperial’s President, Professor Alice P. Gast, at a ceremony later this year.
