Prizes awarded for outstanding work in 2015/16
Centre for Languages, Culture and Communication prizes awarded for outstanding work in 2015/16.
The Sir Arthur Acland Prize for Excellence in Languages for 2015/16 was awarded jointly to Cheuk Yan Tseung and Elizabeth Morcom in recognition of the outstanding effort and achievements they made in their studies of Japanese and Spanish respectively. Their work was not just outstanding but demonstrated a consistent commitment and enthusiasm for language learning combined with academic rigour.
The Sir Arthur Acland Prize in the field of Science, Culture and Society was awarded to Anita Chandran for her short story and critical essay in creative writing. This is an innovative piece of writing that addresses how women have been overlooked in STEM.
The Global Challenges prizes this year were awarded to Sharon Sutanto (The World Today), Claudia Caravello (Design for Sustainable Development) and Jing Chan (Lessons From History).
The Rector’s Prize for Communication Skills which is awarded to the highest scoring student on the Communicating Science course has this year been awarded to Morgaine Stiles.
