Welcome to our new postgraduate students
131 Msc and 32 PhD students joined the Department on Monday. Several of these students have come to us with scholarships.
Michal Maslik was an Electrical and Electronic Engineering undergraduate with us until this summer and is supervised by Dr Tim Constandinou in the Circuits and Systems group, undertaking his PhD in integrated neural microsystems. Michal has been awarded the prestigious Imperial College PhD Scholarship, which is only awarded to two PhD students in the Department per academic year. We are delighted he is continuing his studies with us.
Ruohan Wang and Fan Zhang are PhD students supervised by Professor Yiannis Demiris in the Intelligent Systems and Networks group, and both will be studying machine learning for robotics. Ruohan comes with a scholarship from A* Graduate Academy, Singapore, and Fan has a China Scholarship Council (CSC) scholarship.
Julio Perez Olvera has PhD funding from The National Council for Science and Technology, Mexico (CONACyT). He is supervised by Professor Tim Green in the Control and Power group, and will be looking into ‘Design of Microgrids for enhanced reliability’.
We have two MSc students with funding from the Luna Instituto de Fomento al Talento Humano, Ecuador. Gabriel Freire (below right) and Emilk Sempertegui Aveiga (below left) both studied mechatronics at the University of Manchester, and are now studying our MSc in Control Systems.
Mohammed Kamal Khwaja, who is studying MSc Communications and Signal Processing, has received the Imperial College India Foundation Scholarship. He comes to us from the Vellore Institute of Technology.
