We are very proud to announce that the Department has been ranked 9th in the world for Electrical and Electronic Engineering.
We are one of two UK universities in the top ten of the QS World University Rankings 2017. The QS World University Rankings are designed to help prospective students make informed comparisons of leading universities around the world.
The QS rankings are focussed on the key aspects of a university: teaching, research, developing employability and internationalism. The QS rankings show the strength of universities by discipline. The information is gathered through a global survey of academics, employers, measurements of research productivity, research impact and citations. Overall Imperial College has ranked 6th for engineering.
Professor Eric Yeatman, our Head of Department says “This is an excellent result, in a very competitive field, which we can all be justly proud of. It’s thanks to the high quality work of all our staff and students, not just this past year but over a number of years, that we have been recognised by this ranking.”
