Contributed to research project which produced the first ever crystalline allene oxide.

During his MSci final project under the supervision of Prof. Chris Braddock, Areeb worked on a research project on the synthesis of novel oxides which produced the first ever crystalline allene oxide. The paper reporting this result appeared in Chemical Communications:

D. Christopher Braddock, Areeb Mahtey, Henry S. Rzepa and Andrew J. P. White, ‘Stable bromoallene oxides’ 2016, 52, 11219-11222. DOI: 10.1039/C6CC06395K

The research was also highlighted in ChemistryViews.

Areeb was featured in an interview with The Complete University Guide in which he outlines his inspirations for studying chemistry, how his course progressed in the Department and future career aspirations. Areeb is now a post graduate student at Cambridge University.
