Places available on the MEd Surgical Education

Surgical simulation

Places still remain on the Diploma/MEd programme and applications will be accepted into early September

The MEd Surgical Education underwent a recent modernisation and now features a Diploma entry in addition to the full Masters, offering additional flexibility to busy clinicians.  We are keen to have a lively and challenging group of new students who will help us take the programme to new heights!

We’ve retained important foundations but there are also many new programme features. These include:

- A completely redesigned module on Simulation and Technology Enhanced Learning

- A Surgical Education Specialty Stream and Design Project, with options including ‘Developing Educational Supervisors’ and ‘Advancing Human Health – Engagement Through Simulation’

- Expanded dissertation research opportunities through the Imperial Centre for Engagement and Simulation Science (ICCESS), which Roger Kneebone and Fernando Bello lead. A wide range of original themes includes disruptive simulation (hybrid, distributed and sequential), advances in haptic technology, engagement with patients and publics, and collaboration with visual and performance arts and museum professionals

 - An annual Research Colloquium held with other clinical education programmes in London.

We are looking for people who are up for a challenge by moving outside their comfort zone and to working face to face with able peers and supportive tutors to engage with education in its widest sense.
