Dr Enrique Castro-Sanchez has been awarded a Wellcome Trust Institutional Strategic Support Fund's Faculty Fellowship

Dr Enrique Castro-Sanchez, Lead Research Nurse at the NIHR Health Protection Research Unit in HCAIs and AMR was recently awarded a Wellcome Trust Institutional Strategic Support Fund’s Faculty Fellowship. This fellowship is intended to support the most promising early career researchers obtain the data and experience required to be successful in forthcoming independent external fellowship opportunities. 

Enrique will work until June 2018 on generating quantitative and qualitative data and hypothesis about the use of antibiotics by economically deprived UK citizens, and the impact of social policies on antibiotic use. He will also submit an NIHR funding application to evaluate some of the technology-based interventions focused on improving antimicrobial prescribing
