HPRU leading the way at Implementation Course
The HPRU team came together with healthcare professionals at the 5th Implementation Course, University of Geneva Hospitals & Imperial College.
Dr Raheelah Ahmad, Lead in Healthcare Management and NIHR Knowledge Mobilisation Fellow at the NIHR Health Protection Research Unit (HPRU) in HCAIs and AMR returned to host and lead the 5th Implementation Course, University of Geneva Hospitals & Imperial College in Geneva last week.
The two day course, now in its fifth year, is designed is to provide theoretical concepts and practice case studies about how to establish infection control programmes in healthcare settings. Geneva in the
The programme was opened by Professor Alison Holmes with her talk on “Patient safety and infection control - setting the scene from a clinical and managerial leadership perspective”.
Nichola Naylor, HPRU PhD student joined the faculty for the 5th Implementation Course and presented a talk on “Considering costs in programme implementation”.
The two day course was attended by 40 participants from all continents with an interest in infection control.
Dr Ahmad has been on the organising committee and delivering with Professor Didier Pittet and Dr Walter Zingg from Geneva since the inception of the course is delighted to announce that the course has been recognised and accredited for the EUCIC Infection Prevention and Control Certificate – European training programme.The course will next run in May 2019.
