Design Engineering students win prizes at the China-Britain Joint Science and Technology Summit.

Four student teams from the  Dyson School of Design Engineering participated in the China-Britain Joint Science and Technology Summit and submitted posters which show cased their past and current research. This included work from PhD students Xinyang Tan,  Xiaolong Chen, and  Liuqing Chen’s team: B-Link (members included Feng Shi and Ji Han) who have developed an artificial intelligence based data-driven creativity tool which helps provoke creative ideas and provide inspiration of design problems semantically and visually which won the team 2nd prize. Undergraduate, Renke Huang, was awarded first prize for his poster entry.

 Prof Peter Childs, head of Dyson School of Design Engineering, was also invited to give a speech at the summit’s opening ceremony, and  led a discussion on how artificial intelligence has an impact on our world in a round table discussion.
