Catch our Careers Fairs!

Two people speaking at a careers fair

Come to one of our careers fairs to get a chance to meet potential employers and to ask the questions you won’t find answers to on companies’ websites. Fairs are an opportunity to meet employers face-to-face and to make useful contacts that will aid you in getting the career you deserve. Imperial Careers Fairs are open to all Imperial students and recent Imperial alumni. You do not need to book for our Careers Fairs; you just need to bring along a valid Imperial ID.

Here’s what’s on:

Are you hoping to start a career in the science industry? The first careers fair in the new term is the Science Careers Fair on Thursday 25 January 2018 17.00 – 19.30. Whether you’re a first year, or a final year, or somewhere in between, in Natural Sciences, Life Sciences and Medicine, make sure you don’t miss out on the opportunity to get a real insight into the opportunities available to you. Find out about the steps you need to take to get your dream job.

Are you hoping to have an exciting summer and boost your career prospects at the same time? Come along to the Internship Careers Fair on Monday 15 February 2018 to talk to employers about their upcoming opportunities. If you want to explore what placements and internships are available, this is your perfect chance to get access to the employers providing these competitive opportunities.

If you are approaching the end of your PhD research or just wondering what’s next then make sure you make it to the PhD Careers Fair on Thursday 10 May 2018 17.00 – 19.30. This is a unique event exclusively for PhD students at Imperial College, allowing you to meet employers from all disciplines, including life sciences, physical sciences, mathematics, computer science and all areas of engineering. Come and get a sense of what options are available to you outside of academia, and learn how you can use your research and analytical skills in a different context.

Don’t despair! To round off the Careers Fairs for this academic year, the Summer Recruitment Fair on Thursday 17 May 2018 17.00 – 19.30, provides you with a last chance meet-up with employers who are keen to get you on board for or from the summer months. Whether you are a final year student, or just want some summer employment, make sure you pop in.

Don’t miss out on our Forums!

The Careers Forums are an excellent opportunity to find out more about roles in a particular sector. They provide a chance to network with professionals in that industry. Each forum has six professionals from the given sector, providing an insight into their experiences in different areas of work through short presentations, followed by a Question and Answer session and networking.

Fancy hearing what PhD graduates go on to do? That’s what the PhD Careers Forum on Thursday 18 January 18:30 - 21:00 is all about. Find out about the opportunities available in the wider world of work and the challenges of finding these.

Are you a woman soon to be or already a graduate of Imperial? Come along to the Career Options for Women Graduates Forum on Thursday 8 March 2018      18:30 - 21:00.
