Move opens up the prospect of future EdTech collaborations between the digitally powered learning business and Imperial College
AVADO, the digitally-powered professional learning business, today announces it has moved into the Translation & Innovation Hub (I-HUB) at Imperial College London’s White City Campus, a 23-acre research and innovation district for science, engineering, medicine and business in West London.
AVADO runs international digital programmes for companies including GSK, HSBC, Vodafone, TalkTalk and Dentsu Aegis. Also making the move are the staff who run Squared Online, the award-winning digital marketing leadership course developed with Google; and staff from Arch Apprentices, the UK leader in digital apprenticeships, whose clients include Google, John Lewis and Barclays.
AVADO’s new office has opened in the 13 story I-HUB which will help to translate innovation and research into new products and services by co-locating businesses, major corporations, start-ups and entrepreneurs alongside Imperial’s academic community.
AVADO joins other exciting tech companies on campus, such as BBC Research and Development, which explores technology for the BBC's future, DNA Electronics and the Mapi Group. Other tenants include award-winning workspace provider Central Working, with new members OGCI Climate Investments – a start-up with $1bn of funding to invest in technology to accelerate the development of emission reduction technology and OmTV, creators of entertainment and factual television formats for the UK and global markets
This is a move that will put one of the world’s leading universities together with a global digital learning leader and signals the potential of the first stage of an exciting, new partnership.
Mark O’Donoghue, CEO of AVADO, said “We’re delighted to be relocating to the vibrant tech hub at White City. AVADO prides itself on creating inspiring learning that has a lasting impact and we have exciting plans to make the most of our proximity to one of the world’s top universities.”
Dr Eulian Roberts, Chief Executive of Imperial College London ThinkSpace added “At White City, Imperial’s world leading researchers, entrepreneurs, corporations and higher education partners will work alongside each other to create a new model for a 21st century university campus. AVADO’s award winning online training and learning programmes will provide extended opportunities for cross-disciplinary and cross-campus collaborations on a global scale. We are very pleased to welcome AVADO to the I-HUB.”
Prof David Gann, Vice-President of Imperial College London said “Imperial College is delighted to welcome AVADO and Arch to the White City Campus. They join an ecosystem of fast-growing technology companies and their collaborative approach to their own business development expands and enhances capabilities across the innovation district.”
