Chile welcomes Enrique's expertise on nurse led antibiotic stewardship

Universidad Catolica de Chile has invited Dr Enrique Castro-Sanchez to deliver a series of workshops on nurse led antibiotic stewardship

The NIHR Health Protection Research Unit in HCAI and AMR is delighted to report that Dr Enrique Castro-Sanchez, Lead Research Nurse will present workshops on the leadership of nurses in antibiotic stewardship and infectious diseases with colleagues at the Universidad Catolica de Chile and the PAHO/WHO Collaborating Centre for the Development of Health Services and Nursing  

Following his participation at the forthcoming ICID conference in Buenos Aires, Dr Castro-Sanchez has been invited by colleagues at the Universidad Catolica de Chile and the PAHO/WHO Collaborating Centre for the Development of Health Services and Nursing to give a series of workshops and seminars focused on increasing the leadership of nurses in antibiotic stewardship and infectious diseases.

During the visit, taking place from 11th-14th April, Enrique will meet University faculty and staff; visit hospital and community centres to identify opportunities for collaboration, joint research and funding; and present about his work developing roles for nurses in infections and appropriate use of antibiotics.

This visit takes place at a time when HPRU is increasing its international presence and activities, and Chile is escalating the growth of nurses in leadership positions and roles.
