Engineering staff successful at the Student Academic Choice Awards
Staff from across the College were recognised this week at Imperial College Union's annual Student Academic Choice Awards (SACAs).
It was a particularly good night for the Faculty as engineering staff were named winners in four of the eight categories:
- Anna Regoutz (Materials) - Best Teaching for Undergraduates
- Clare Drysdale (EEE) - Best Support Staff
- Luc Vanderperre (Materials) - Best Feedback
- Fidelis Perkonigg (Computing) - Best Teaching for Postgraduates
The winners all receive a trophy as well as the famous SACAs mug.
Launched in 2012, the SACAs recognise Imperial staff for their contributions to education and the student experience at the College.
This year’s awards received nearly 2,000 nominations, which were whittled down to a 48-strong shortlist by a panel of students.
Some of the winners took to Twitter to celebrate the achievement:
Professor Omar Matar, Vice-Dean (Education) in the Faculty of Engineering, said: "Amazing work by the Union and the DPE, Nick Burstow; the Oscars and BAFTAS have nothing on the SACAs!
"Congratulations to all of the nominees, shortlistees and winners. We are super proud of you and your achievements, and thank you for all of your hard work."
