HPRU students awarded places on National PhD Training Programme in AMR
Shirin Aliabadi & Sabine Bou-Antoun will join the Medical Research Foundation National PhD Training Programme in Antimicrobial Resistance research
The NIHR Health Protection Research Unit (HPRU) in Healthcare Associated Infections (HCAIs) and Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) is delighted to report that two of our PhD students Shirin Aliabadi and Sabine Bou-Antoun have been selected to join the Antimicrobial Resistance PhD Training Programme funded by the Medical Research Foundation.
The Medical Research Foundation has invested £2.85m to create the only national PhD Training Programme that will train new scientists to explore ways to tackle antimicrobial resistance, one of the greatest global emerging threats to human health.
The programme aims to develop a strong and active network of new researchers for the UK with multidisciplinary skills who will be able to develop, undertake and, potentially, lead AMR research which crosses the traditional boundaries between research disciplines and sectors.
