Imperial adds Master’s in International Management to its MSc portfolio
Imperial has added an MSc in International Management to its MSc degrees, for students looking to accelerate their careers in international business.
Launching in September 2019, the Masters in International Management has been designed to better reflect the demands of the modern global business environment.
The programme is Imperial’s most internationally-focused business Master’s programme to date and will equip top business graduates with advanced and innovative leadership skills by incorporating a number of features that will prepare graduates for the future workplace and create a more enhanced global study experience.
The programme’s features include a year-long ‘Leadership in Action’ international business project to develop leadership skills in a real-life consulting environment. Students will be coached and mentored throughout the project by Business School faculty in order to learn international management skills in a fully immersive and practical way.
Other new aspects of the programme include a Global Immersion week, which provides students with the opportunity to experience first-hand the social and cultural dynamics of working in another country. The week-long trip will consist of visits to local companies operating across a range of industry sectors, as well as social and cultural activities.
Students will also have the opportunity to study abroad to further develop their international experience at one of Imperial’s top partner institutions, including the Chinese University of Hong Kong, HEC Paris and University of Texas at Austin.
“Today’s business environment is truly global and a great workplace for people with a thorough understanding of international business dynamics and strong intercultural and interpersonal skills." Jolande Bot-Vos Programme Director, Imperial College Business School
The programme will place a greater emphasis on technology and analytics, with digital innovation embedded throughout the programme including core modules in Decision Analytics and Innovation and Technology Strategy. Students will also benefit from a reduction in core modules and an increased number of electives to allow them to better tailor their studies to their own individual needs. They will also be required to take a careers module that aims to support them in defining their career goals and equip them with the knowledge and skills they need to be successful after graduation.
Jolande Bot-Vos, Programme Director of the MSc International Management at Imperial College Business School said,
“Today’s business environment is truly global and a great workplace for people with a thorough understanding of international business dynamics and strong intercultural and interpersonal skills. The MSc International Management offers a large number of international modules, including exchanges and international projects, and has a strong focus on developing leadership skills.”
Eligible applicants must have a solid understanding of business and the ability to demonstrate strong quantitative skills and commercial awareness. Further information can be found on the School’s website and applications for the programme will open from November 2018.
The MSc International Management will be offered alongside the MSc Management programme – an applied degree programme designed to cater to new or recent graduates from more diverse academic backgrounds who are interested in kick-starting a career in business. Both programmes form part of Imperial College Business School’s Management Master’s portfolio which also includes an MSc in Strategic Marketing and an MSc in Economics & Strategy for Business.
